What is Stocks and Stockexchange?
Hey guys my name is Siddhesh satam. Giving you a warm welcome in my Blog website
which known as Market Talks. Today’s topic is Stocks/Share market or for
various Indian uncle’s Share bazaar. Stock exchange or share market is the
place where Shares/Stocks of corporation or business are listed or issued and
traded in Stock market.Stock market provide access to capital for all business
in the form of cash. Company or business can sell their shares or stocks to
finance their major projects. When someone buys the shares/stock he becomes the
small part of the company which is known as ‘Shareholder’.
In Stock Market we can trade in various instrument
such as Equities, commodities, Derivatives, currencies etc. I will explain
these instruments in next Blog. So let’s understand the concept of Stock Market.
There are total 60 major Stock Exchange in the world.
Some major stock exchange in the world are NYSE (New York stock exchange),
NASDAQ, LSE(London stock exchange), Euronext, Japan stock exchange. These stock
exchanges open as per their respective time zone. In India there are 23 stock
exchanges. There are two major stock exchanges in India. BSE (Bombay stock exchange), NSE
(National stock exchange). BSE(Bombay stock exchange) was establish in 1875. It
is the oldest stock exchange in Asia. It is located at Dalal street, Mumbai. Its
Overall market capitalization is more than us$2.1 trillion. NSE(National stock exchange)
first dematerialized electronic exchange in the country. NSE was the first
exchange in the country to provide a modern, fully automated screen-based
electronic trading system which offered easy trading facilities to investors
spread across the length and breadth of the country. Established in 1992. Its Market
capitalization is $2.1 trillion. Both the Stock exchanges has its own Index’s.
BSE has Sensex and NSE has Nifty 50. Next blog will be about Index’s in depth.
